SUCRECUBE Japon’s products are designed for places without electricity. There are five ways in: a portable solar power unit, a power and network installation for schools, solar-powered cold storage and processing facilities, the export of what those facilities produce, and projects carried out with partners.
Portable power: TUMIQUI Smart Kit
A portable solar power unit that works as soon as the panel is connected and the unit is switched on. SUCRECUBE Japon delivered 147 units to UNICEF Gambia for 122 schools, and 45 units to IOM Gambia. In Senegal it is used in schools and health posts under memoranda of understanding with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health. The combination of connected equipment (television, printer, small medical devices) is designed by SUCRECUBE Japon. OEM enquiries are also welcome.
Power and connectivity: TUMIQUI Power Digital Solutions (TPDS)
A SUCRECUBE Japon product that combines a fixed solar installation with a communications antenna. It gives schools and public buildings more power than the portable Smart Kit, and a high-speed local network inside the building. Deployments are carried out with partners. With Senegal’s Ministry of National Education, TPDS was installed in 2022 in five schools in Sandiara and at one connection point. Since fiscal year 2026, it has been combined with X-ICS, a distributed ICT platform developed by NICT, under a pilot study for Japan’s Ministry of Communications.
Facilities: solar cold storage containers and processing equipment
Refrigerated or freezer containers powered by solar panels and batteries, delivered together with equipment for processing farm produce. SUCRECUBE Japon has built two sites in Sandiara, Senegal. Both run 24 hours a day on solar power and batteries alone. The equipment running at these two sites is sold as it is. The company supplies international organisations, government projects and pilot projects by Japanese companies.
- Solar cold storage container, 40 ft, Site A type (one 40-foot container, 21 kW solar, 22 m³ cold room)
- Solar cold storage, freezer and processing site, Site B type (three containers under a pitched roof, 35 kW solar, 60 m³ cold room, freezer room)
- Food processing unit (from washing to freezing)
- KIOSK (electricity and connectivity point)
Processing and export: Senegalese mango
In Senegal, an estimated 50,000 tonnes of mangoes are lost every year. As a pilot project of Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), SUCRECUBE Japon turns harvested mangoes into purée and freezes it with the women’s group GIE DIAMI SANDIARA. The products are being promoted in Japan and France. Sample shipments to Japan have begun. Enquiries for sample evaluation and trade are welcome.
Partnerships and operations
Co-creation. A framework in which Japanese companies’ technology is tested at SUCRECUBE Japon’s sites. The pairing of the TUMIQUI Smart Kit with a Seiko Epson printer is being tested in health posts in Casamance.
Maintenance and operations. Delivered equipment and facilities are maintained by technicians of the company’s Senegalese subsidiary. Temperature and solar output are monitored remotely from Dakar and from Japan.
