SUCRECUBE Japon establishes its Senegalese subsidiary, TUMIQUI JAPON SASU

Read this in:FRJA

SUCRECUBE Japon (incorporated on 13 April 2018, CEO: Koichi SATO) has established TUMIQUI JAPON SASU, a wholly owned subsidiary in the Sandiara special economic zone in Senegal. The new company will expand the TUMIQUI Project, which brings electricity and telecommunications to unelectrified villages in West Africa.

1. Why a subsidiary in Senegal

Since April 2018, the Company has worked to bring electricity and telecommunications to unelectrified villages in West Africa. With the support of Senegal’s Ministry of Health, it has installed the TUMIQUI Smart Kit in rural health posts. The kit combines portable solar power with communication equipment. It is in trial operation. In December 2019, the Company signed a memorandum of understanding with the commune of Sandiara. It covers equipment for schools and health facilities, and cooperation in the commune’s development.

The subsidiary serves the project’s core principle: local production and local jobs that strengthen the country. Its location in the Sandiara special economic zone brings tax and customs benefits and close work with the local authorities. Installation, maintenance and repair of the equipment are carried out locally. Senegal becomes the base for expanding the business across West Africa.
